Shoes on a beach

Anyone remember these? If you go down the slip way next to St Mary's Church which is just off Battersea Square they used to be tied up on the left hand side. Not sure how they all got there, whether washed up by the river or stolen from peoples porches!

They had all gone last time I walked that way, which I think was January, but someone told me that a few of them have started to appear again.

Let me know if you spot them.....

A Bridge Too Far...

Actually, it's just a photo post. These are taken from my own personal favorite bridge (Battersea Bridge, featured in Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels).

Photos of Albert Bridge (featured in Sliding Doors).

In the morning...

...and the evening.

We actually live in a fairly stunning part of London, and I love being near the river. And I like all the twinkly lights!

The Lighthouse

Has anyone else noticed that The Dovedale, formerly Dovedale House and probably formerly something before that, has now become The Lighthouse?

In case you haven't realised what pub I am talking about, its the one at the junction of Albert Bridge Road and Battersea Park Road. They used to have a great wood fired pizza oven, which was the only reason I went there to be honest.

Guinness was 10p cheaper than the Latchmere but it was also 10 times more ropey!

Weird light fitting made of old glasses as well I seem to remember.

Must make an effort to go and check it out and see what its like now.

Really HOT Curry

The other weekend I wandered out of my house and headed off towards the Spar on Battersea Park Road (at the Latchmere end). Being a Sunday afternoon I was debating my options for dinner which included (in no particular order) Pizza; Sunday Roast; a visit to the Little Italian on the corner. Suddenly a delightful aroma of curry comes wafting down Frere Street. Now this smelt good. REALLY good. The only drawback? Well as i got to the end of the road I realised that the curry house was busy burning down. This was indicated by the large selection of big red lorries with hoses and the smoke and flames.

Bugger.

RIP Battersea Tandoori.

Still, it did smell really good...
